I created this special image for Livesuit, which allows you to install only the ClockworkMod Recovery 5.5.0.4 on your MK802.

This livesuit special image with only clockworkmod recovery inside, is very usefull because the mk802 not have the volume and power buttons to go in recovery mode. With this special image, if you are creating your own custom rom, and for same reason you are in boot loop, (editing the rom), is very simple to enter in recovery, without the old long long procedure.

The main function is to make it easier to install CyanogenMod 9 and CyanogenMod 10

How it work: 1) Install this image with Livesuit 2) Start your MK802 normally (automatically starts ClockworkMod) 3) Insert an sdcard with inside the new ROM in zip format 4) Install the ROM with ClockworkMod 5) Reboot

useful cheers, though i already have clockwork installed using older longer method but will come in handy if say trying out uberoid rom to get back quickly to clockwork recovery!

what would be good is could make say uberoid rom into a flashable zip to install via clockworkmod? thx

For now the only full functional ROM is the rev1 for mk802. (for daily usage). This is the version with uinput inside: https://www.miniand.com/forums/forums/development/topics/custom-livesuit-image-built-with-uinput-bundled-droidmote-with-mk802

The rev2 and all others rom have problem inside. (i tested it). (if you have hardware that only works on rev2, you can just load the module you need on the rev1)

if you want to test, I recommend only CyanogenMod 9 and 10. (because you can see the source code, and you can understand what work and what no)

Cyanogenmod 9 is very fast and about to be complete.

CyanogenMod 10 is very young, but already shows its strength. (I'm sure in a short time will improve).

If you want DroidMote functioning in all its parts, also the multitouch touchpad, on CyanogenMod 9 for MK802:

Read instrunction on this page to install CyanogenMod 9: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1760929

Use this mk802_legacy-compatibility_v1 with uinput.ko module inside: http://dl.miniand.com/zulu99/upload/mk802_legacy-compatibility_v1.zip

My MK802 is the 1 Gig Version if that matters. I am using Uberoid V1.1 Final.

I flashed your CWM-recovery-5.5.04.img using Livesuit v1.09 and things went well. CWM worked fine and I was able to Wipe Data/Cache and Restore a backup of my Uberoid ROM.

After rebooting my TV display was out of whack. Using 720P the Uberoid Home Screen was slightly larger than my TV display and on 1080P or 1080I it was located to the top left and was about 1/3 of my normal display size. Rest of screen was black.

Wipe Data/Factory Reset did not fix the problem. I finally used Livesuit and flashed Uberoid V1.1.img to get back to a normal display.

If all fairness to your img file, I have noticed this display problem before on the factory 4.0.4 firmware and using CWM 5.5.04 that I had installed by the ' cat recovery.img > /dev/block/nandg ' command.

Any ideas as to what is going on?

First for me Uberoid is not android, i know only stock firmware and cyanognmod (because you can see the source code). (in uberoid when you take away the power mk802 does not start and you have to reinstall the firmware ) I do not accept, not only Uberoid, but any rom that has not been compiled from scratch.

I think this is a problem of your TV, i not have problem on my TV samsung UE55D7000. I experienced your problem with another device some time ago, but my TV (good samsung tv) have a button wich i can adjust the image size. Many good TV have this button. in essence, your TV does not rescale good pictures. Try to update the firmware of your tv. With samsung we can. :)

ON MY MK802 I PUT ONLY STOCK FIRMWARE REV1 AND CYANOGENMOD 9, I PREFER CYANOGENMOD 9 NOW I'M TESTING CYANOGENMOD 10

Hi zulu99, did you try to get dvb-t working in cm9 or cm10. Would be happy if this worked on mk802. Thanks.

In reply to zulu99

is simple, get the module from the rom in wich the dvb-t work and add it to CM9

You can see the modules that you have with the command lsmod after you must get the .ko file related this module. install cyanogenmod 9 and with the command insmod add this new module

After having all working, you can also customize the installation zip and you can install and reinstall as many times as you want. that's the beauty of ClockworkMod Recovery united with Cyanogenmod

In reply to pogodancer

Hi zulu99, thanks for your quick response. But I have two doubts: 1. Christian Troy says that the dvb-t will not work with "mk802_legacy-compatibility_v1" installed via CWRM. I tried it and it did not work. 2. I do not understand what you described because I don't know anything about linux/android. If this could be a solution, maybe you could explain it a bit more for noobs. Thanks.

In reply to zulu99

in wich rom do you have this working ? a can create a compatibility for mk802 with all modules (i just create one with uinput inside i can upgrade this)

In reply to pogodancer

Hi zulu99, I installed CM9 and with the installed app "updateme" I could download the dvb-t-driverpackage as a .zip to install it via CWRM. This is the .zip-package: http://www.mediafire.com/?4hb4at28uxtff5m Thanks.

In reply to zulu99

All the modules inside the zip are for kernel 3.0.36+, on mk802 for now we have kernel 3.0.8+

should I build all these modules for our kernel, I'll see what I can do.

In reply to pogodancer

Hi zulu99, I don't know anything about kernels. Seems that the drivers were made for Christian Troys own compatibility.zips for CM9 which maybe were built on kernel 3.0.36. But for the mk802 he did not build a compatibility.zip so that we have to use the legacy-compatibility.zip. I think legacy should be something like original ...???

Anyway - Linux and kernels and scripts are things I don't know anything about. If you could build a kernel for the mk802 which is working with dvb-t-sticks that would be great. With dvb-t the mk802 would be the perfect substitute for my mediaplayer connected to my beamer. Does not need much place and can do everything.

Hope you can do. Thanks.

It may be my TV(s) but it does the same thing on all three of them. None of my TVs are Samsung but are three different other manufactures. My main TV does allow me to adjust the image size but the problem still exists.

I suspect it is something inherent in the 4.0.4 firmware that Uberoid is built on and others who use your CWM img on MK802 4.04 or Uberoid may possibly experience this same display situation.

The new version 2.9.4 of DroidMote Server, resolv the multitouch touchpad problem on CM9 and CM10 I think resolv also in other firmware.

I am running Uberoid v1.2 and have no issues with a display whatsoever. I have placed the MK802 on a 720P Vizio 37 inch without issues.. With Uberoid v1.2 I was able to adjust for overscan on the Vizio and it works very well. I also have a Mitsubishi 65" DLP with the Mk802 running Uberoid version 1.2 in 1080P also was able to adjust for the TV sets overscan , and then piped it thru my Yamaha A/V rcvr that resulted in exceptional sound via the HDMI port .. I also ran the 710B firmware on the MK802 and experienced loss of apps and have to reflash. I consider this a short coming of a device with no orderly shutdown.. At least with Uberoid v1.2 there is a shutdown button and using it does not result in loss of data/apps as 710B stock firmware did .. As a former video tech I find it best to LEAVE your tv adjusments alone .. .. Any trimming , underscan/overscan adjusments should be done on the device not the tv set or it will be unacceptable when you switch sources..

In reply to My Tablet

You should never have to adjust your TV to adjust picture size, color, hue or anything to do with the picture. Your TV is the display and when properly adjusted to linearity and other factors they should never be changed. Why do you think many people pay to have their TV ISF calibrated? Change should be done on the device and not the display. Otherwise you will continually be adjusting your tv everytime you change source from dvd to mk802 to satellite or whatever .. At least in version 2 of the MK802 and Uberoid ver1.2, you have the ability to scale the picture to overcome its overscan on the TV .. which was not in the initial release. What do you mean, that Uberoid is not Android? Uberoid v1.2 has a base version of 710B factory firmware. It is composed of enhancements, speed and gui tweaks, apps etc. For me it has been running for days, while on the stock firmware of 710B I had mysterious unknown restarts and even it went stupid when power was pulled. If it is not Android then why does it run YOUR Droidmote Server so well? If it wasnt for some of these developers we would be simply stuck with stock firmware.. unless of course the CM team decided the architecture warranted a CM firmware. I am sorry I cannot accept your statement that Uberoid is not Android and that a rom must be built from scratch! We are entitled to our opinions .. you have yours ... and I have mine ..

Not everything has to be flashed from CWM!

I am running Uberoid V1.1 and also have no issues with my display normally. One of my TVs is a Vizio as well.

Where I have encountered an issue is not necessarily with zuly99's CWM img but with using CWM 5.5.04 in general on my MK802MKs (I have four of them) and Uberoid or factory 4.0.4 firmware. Every time I flash zulu99'd CWM 5.5.0.4.img and then restore an existing backup of Uberoid V1.1 or V1.2 or original factory 4.04 firmware I have the out of whack display situation. I do not have the problem when I use CWM version 4. Could be just me but I doubt it. I do a format when flashing with Livesuit and yes I do a Wipe Data/Cache before restoring a backup. As previously posted I get this on all three of my TVs.

I was able to duplicate the same problem on one occasion from a shell command ' cat recovery.img > /dev/block/nandg ' with recovery.img being a CWM 5.5.0.4 version but have been unable to do so again. Can't remember the sequence of events that transpired.

One thing I have noted when I have the display problem after restoring a backup using CWM 5.5.0.4 is my internal sdcard is no longer available. It is missing from Settings, Storage. I suspect CWM 5.5.04 and Uberoid (or factory 4.0.4) may not be compatible.

Could you possibly do a backup of your V1.2 configuration, flash zuly99's CWM img and then restore your backup to confirm my problem?

In reply to satcomranger

That is a great observation .. It would lead me to conclude that: 1) Something is wrong with 5.5.0.4 2) CWM doesn't like backing up anything but a CM9 or CM10 release

Well, I wud like to help .. but in order to duplicate I need to know what process you used to get CWM on the stick to begin with , and the I can make the backup, flash the zulu99 5504, and then restore the backup..Is that the idea? .. Please post the link on how u got CWM on it to begin with!

Yes, if you could confirm my observations that would be great. You will also be able to make good backups of your configurations. I have done several with no issues using CWM version 4. Also have done them with CWM version 5 as well. The issues (in my opinion) are when you restore them on a MK802 using CWM version 5.

Here is the link to where I found CWM version 4 http://rikomagic.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=142

Be warned, CWM 4 is a bear to deal with on MK802 since you will have a somewhat purple split screen and you will have to carefully watch the upper right screen of the four you will see. It does work but the CWM 4 split screen was why I was excited about using zulu99's CWM 5 img in the first place. It has a normal screen and you can see what you are doing.

Maybe zulu99 would consider making a CWM 4 img for us to use on MK802 if the issues I am having are just not me doing something wrong.

In reply to satcomranger

Ah yes..the old purple quad split screen method .. That is the reason i dumped CWM and went just to Uberoid v1.2! Give me a day or two to load that up again ..
